About PianoShelves
A PianoShelf is an heirloom-quality furniture piece crafted from a real acoustic piano. Each instrument is thoughtfully restored and reimagined as a functional work of art—preserving its character while transforming it into a striking architectural statement for the home. Every piece is individually commissioned and designed to integrate seamlessly with your space, resulting in a one-of-a-kind addition intended to be enjoyed for generations.
Yes, every PianoShelf is made from a real acoustic piano.
You can choose the “spring-loaded keys” option when designing your PianoShelf if you want the keys to feel playable, but it won’t function as a regular instrument since the piano’s “insides” have been removed to make room for the shelves.
Yes! Every PianoShelf is individually commissioned and built to your specifications. You’ll choose the base style, finishes, shelving configuration, optional features, etc. During the design process, we also review photos of your home with you to ensure the final product fits beautifully with your room’s style and proportions. Because each piece is individually designed by you for your home, no two PianoShelves are exactly the same.
Pricing
The baseline price for a PianoShelf begins at $25,000. This reflects the exceptional level of individual craftsmanship and our deliberate choice to accept only a limited number of private commissions each year so we can highly customize each one. The starting price includes your base style and finish choices, a detailed consultation before finalizing the design/purchase price, hand-selection of a quality instrument to fit your design, weekly video progress updates, Free Curbside Delivery within 180 miles of Grandview, WA (personally delivered by us), our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, and our 1-year limited warranty. This price excludes any selected upgrades. Sales tax is charged on the total purchase price (baseline price + upgrades) where statutorily required.

Customization Options
We offer 5 base styles: Vertical Grand (with lower shelves), Vertical Grand (no lower shelves), Horizontal Grand, Upright (with lower shelves), and Upright (no lower shelves). See example sketches in the Core Specifications section of the PianoShelf Design Form. These styles can then be highly customized using the design form.
Yes, those customizations (and others) are a major part of the design process. You can choose the finish color, style, material, and texture that best match your home’s atmosphere and style. Whether you prefer a classic piano finish, a natural wood look, or something more modern, the goal is to create a piece that integrates seamlessly into your space. We’ll review your design choices during the consultation to ensure the final design reflects your goals.
A variety of optional upgrades are available to further personalize your PianoShelf. Current add-on options include interior lighting, doors, mirrors, glass shelves, spring-loaded keys, adjustable shelf heights, and enhanced shipping/installation. Ordering/Production Process
To kick things off, simply fill out and submit a PianoShelf Design Form. Once we’ve had your 45-minute consultation (scheduled in the form), then you can sign a brief agreement (so we have all the details agreed to in writing), pay a 25% commissioning deposit (to cover the piano/material purchases for your PianoShelf, secure your place in queue, etc.), and we’re all set to begin production. Once that begins, you receive weekly, personalized video updates to keep you abreast of the progress (as well as the unique challenges that are sure to arise during highly-customized woodworking). Once production is completed, your finished PianoShelf is delivered by us to your home!
The consultation is a collaborative design session where we refine your PianoShelf concept. During the meeting, we review your design choices, discuss customization options, analyze an AI-generated representation of your design inside your house to confirm it looks like you intend, and finalize details around delivery, production timeline, and the final price.
This allows us to design the PianoShelf with your actual space in mind. By seeing the room layout, wall space, lighting, and surrounding furniture, we can help ensure the finished piece fits naturally into your home. The photos also allow us to create visual previews that help illustrate how the PianoShelf will look once installed.
Because every PianoShelf is custom built, production times vary depending on design complexity. Expect projects to take several months from design approval to completion. We accept a limited number of commissions each year to ensure exceptional attention to detail.
Delivery and Installation Options
Yes. Since we personally deliver our PianoShelves, we are able to offer delivery throughout the continental United States. We offer Free Curbside Delivery within 180 miles of Grandview, WA, so if you’re outside that radius we’ll arrange the costs for the additional time/mileage.
Free Curbside Delivery means we bring your PianoShelf to the curb, driveway, or edge of your property. Due to the large and heavy nature of a PianoShelf, we cannot personally bring it into your home or install it, but we can certainly arrange to have a licensed and insured company do that for you if you would like that (there is a 10% coordination markup on the company’s charge for arranging those details).
Guarantees
Our satisfaction guarantee ensures that you can order with confidence. If you are not completely satisfied with your PianoShelf upon delivery, you may reject it and you will not owe anything beyond the original deposit. This guarantee allows customers to move forward with the design process knowing there is no risk beyond the initial deposit if the final result does not match their expectations.
Here are the details of our 1-year limited warranty:
Coverage
We warrant to the original purchaser that each custom bookshelf will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, including structural defects affecting load-bearing components, under normal residential use for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery.
Natural Materials and Environmental Conditions
Our bookshelves are constructed from wood and other materials that inherently respond to environmental conditions. Variations in grain, color, texture, and natural features are not defects.
Despite efforts to condition it during production, wood will expand and contract, and may exhibit minor movement over time. Warping, cracking, checking, splitting, or joint movement resulting from environmental conditions—including but not limited to fluctuations in humidity, temperature, or exposure to direct sunlight—are considered natural and are not covered under this warranty. For best performance, bookshelves should be maintained in a stable indoor environment, ideally within a relative humidity range of approximately 30%–55%.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
~ Normal wear and tear
~ Cosmetic variations or natural characteristics of materials
~ Damage or movement caused by environmental conditions, including humidity or temperature changes
~ Improper installation, placement on uneven surfaces, or failure to properly secure the unit (if applicable)
~ Overloading beyond reasonable or intended use
~ Misuse, abuse, neglect, or accidents
~ Alterations, modifications, or repairs by parties other than us
~ Commercial or non-residential use, unless agreed to in writing
Remedy
If a covered defect is reported within the warranty period (notify us in writing within 30 days of discovery, with proof of purchase and photos/description), we will, at our sole discretion, repair or replace the defective component(s), or provide a partial/full refund. Inspection may be required.
Limitations
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, after the expiration of this limited warranty period.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
In no event shall we be liable for any incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, damage to other property, or inconvenience.
